Raj Babbar: No alliance for civic polls

LUCKNOW: Congress has decided not to ally with Samajwadi Party in the upcoming local bo dies’ elections and plans to contest 16 may oral elections and 637 seats on its own.
As its key strategy, the party will expose strategy , the party will expose fake promises made by ruling BJP and will remind people of the good governance under Congress leadership. UP Congress president, Raj Babbar said, “We are very serious about local bodies’ election.”
Babbar also said,”Yeh jhooton ki sarkar hai.. yeh jumlon ki rajniti karte hain… logon ki bhavnaon se khelte hain .. hum ghar ghar ja ke inka mukhauta dikhayenge (This is a government of liars. They use populist phrases and play with the emotions of people. We will go to every house and expose them).” Political analysts say that the civic polls are crucial for Congress for two reasons.Firstly , it will test its revival plan which will help the leadership formalise strategy for 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Secondly , it is a chance to infuse life into its otherwise comatose cadres.
