Rahul Gandhi Shares Birthday Ladoos, Tweets “Overwhelmed” By Love

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, who turned 49 today, in a tweet this morning said he is “overwhelmed” by the love he has been receiving in the form of birthday greetings.
“Thank you all for your best wishes & greetings on my birthday. I’m overwhelmed & grateful for your love & affection,” Mr Gandhi wrote on Twitter as he shared his pictures with senior leaders who met him this morning to wish him.

Rahul Gandhi’s sister Priyanka Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, among other senior party leaders met him and gave him flowers..

BJP spreading hatred: Raj Babbar

Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Raj Babbar Wednesday accused the BJP of diverting people’s attention from development issues and trying to spread communal hatred for garnering votes.

Canvassing for party candidate Supriya Shrinate in the Maharajganj constituency, he said most of the development works were done during Congress rule and his party was the voice of the poor, backward and downtrodden sections of society. “The BJP is trying to divert people’s attention from development issues and are trying to spread communal hatred and seeking votes,” he said at an election meeting in Maharjganj.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to contest the last two phases of the Lok Sabha elections on issues of demonetisation, GST and promises made to the youth. PM Modi protected interests of ’15 selected people’: Rahul Gandhi

Congress president Rahul Gandhi accused him of protecting the interest of “15 selected people”, while ignoring the farmers and the poor.

“This chowkidar obliged 15 selected people during his five-year term but told sugarcane farmers that cane-farming caused ‘sugar’ (diabetes),” Gandhi alleged…

The diabetes remark is usually attributed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

“Narendra Modi in 2014 made a number of false assurances, on ‘achhe din’ (better days), two crore jobs, Rs 15 lakh in every bank account. But none of them came true,” Gandhi said at an election rally in the Kheri Lok sabha constituency.
